Love your blog. My grandfather was brought up at Moorgate Lees because my great-grandfather, David Jones, owned it from before the first world war to 1942.
I have a photo of David, his wife and 2 daughters standing in front of what looks like the front door that's still there, in the 1920s. If you send your email address to jackielangford@hotmail.com I'll send you the photo.

Ah - my great grandfather was Mary Anne Middleton's father John Middleton, who owned the farm prior to David Jones - Mary Anne married David, you could write a book about it all!... it was some story, and this is how David came to own the farm.
John Middleton and his son, who survived WW1 but caught we think Spanish Flu and died a few days after returning from the front, are buried in Fylingthorpe Church.
